With the first installation of Cool Comics just around the corner, we’ve put together a detailed minting guide to help ensure everything runs smoothly for you on the big day. Read through the steps below and prepare to get your paws on the precious loot. Let’s make Tepnu proud…
Purchasing and minting Cool Comics happens in two stages:
Stage 1: Purchasing your unminted Cool Comic with $MILK
The unminted version of the Cool Comic may only be purchased by Cool Cats or Pets holders via the Meowpad with $MILK, and is not an NFT.
Stage 2: Minting your comic
Once the unminted comic is purchased, you can mint the comic directly through the Meowpad, transforming it into an ERC-721 token that will be viewable following the upcoming Comic reveal.
The details are listed in a step-by-step format below:
Purchase Your Comic
First, head over to coolcatsnft.com, and connect your preferred wallet. Make sure the wallet connected has at least 75,000 $MILK available and holds a qualifying Cool Cats or Cool Pets NFT.
Step 1: Access the Meowpad, which can be found in the top-right corner of your screen.
Step 2: Head into the Cool Shop.
Step 3: Click on the Comic Book drop down menu, and then select ‘Tepnu and the Water Disaster’.
Step 4: Click ‘Purchase. Please note that only one Comic can be purchased during each transaction.
Step 5: $MILK BURN — You’ll now be asked if you want to pay the required 75,000 $MILK to purchase the Comic. If you do, select ‘Submit’.
Step 6: Confirm that you want to spend 75,000 $MILK once more by selecting ‘Yes’.
Step 7: Wait for the blockchain confirmation. Be patient — this can take up to 15 minutes. If you see the purchasing wheel, you are in the queue.
While you wait, the system will be doing a few things behind the scenes, including:
- Queuing/batching all of the individual transactions as they arrive.
- Paying for gas to complete all of these transactions.
- Modulating how many transactions are going into each batch to ensure the network(s) aren’t inundated. Please note that these transactions can only be sent/signed through our backend.
Step 8: Your purchase is complete — congratulations! If you are successful, you will have an unminted comic in your “Items” inventory. Use this to complete Stage 2 of the minting process.
If it fails, it is likely that you did not have enough $MILK, or the Cool Comics are sold out.
Step 9: Wait to purchase again. There will be a cooldown before you’re able to purchase again, to make things fair. Trying to brute force this will incur longer delays on the cooldown.
Mint Your Comic
Step 1: Head over to your Items tab in the Meowpad.
Step 2: Use the Quick Filter for Comics.
Step 3: Select your unminted Comic. Please note that unminted Comics cannot be traded.
Step 4: Select ‘Mint’. You will have to cover the gas fees here, and you can only mint one Comic at a time.
You have until 8:00PM ET on Sept 27, 2022 to complete this step. If you do not complete this step, you will lose the Comic and $MILK spent forever.
Step 5: Your Comic will now be an Ethereum-based ERC-721 token and will appear as its own icon. Before the reveal date, all comics will look the same.
Step 6: After the reveal date, you will be able to access the readable copy of your comic by selecting your Comic and clicking ‘Read’.
